It's excellent base for visiting some must see attractions in Chaumont-en-Vexin. The standard quadruple room is reasonably spacious and has central heating, a flat-screen TV, and a study table.

About the only good thing is that you get a bed for the night.
Hotel staff were not on site when we arrived, just a note advising us of our room number. You could describe the service as "iconic French". The on-site parking was through a very narrow opening into a courtyard. The only way we could exit without getting hung up on large blocks either side of the entrance was to drive straight out across the (very busy) two lanes of the main street in the town. This was usually accompanied by beeping horns and fist waving.

Nice room, with character. Helpful other guests,
Could not find the reception when we got there - but once we looked closer it became clear that our room number was a on a little board and the key on our door. (The key, it turned out, wasn't there, but this was just because of a hitch in the system - it normally works ok).

We got great value for our money at Hotel Saint Nicolas. The room had a unique old-style French charm and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Plus, the location was perfect with a stunning Renaissance church nearby.
The breakfast menu could use some improvement.

the property is located off one of the main streets and has a nice sun terrace for evening drinks. the breakfast served on-site was typical continental style. the location was great, as I had easy access to Monet's garden and Chantilly Domain for some sightseeing. Chaumont en Vexin is a charming town with a beautiful cathedral and amenities like a pharmacy and Carrefour.
Can't think of anything negative to mention 😊.
